hi dr.khoo,im a medical student ,suffering of HH for years now,i seekd many dermatologist to control my problem, but the only solution they ghave me was propanolol just to control my sympathetic overactivity-which i fpouind its not working for me.
i have done checking for my thyroid a few times, its all clear.
my main problem is excessive sweating over my face and chest(other areas also involved -like palm but not a big issue still managable).
as a medical student,my daily task requires me to meet patients and clerk them, and its very uncomfortable when i start sweeating on my face, and especially when the patients notice this,i get uncomfortable and anxious. so every time i clerk a patient ,beginnning part i would get good history after that i would panic due to HH and end up not taking proper history, this makes my performance oin clinical side to worsen, eventhough i would say my theory knowledge is good(im one of the top in class).
i came across your website, very happy to see finally thr is a solution by ETS.
i would love to undergo the procedure anytime, but since a student,rm8k is a big amount for me.
but i was thinking whther my insurance can cover this or not.
ive been taking SIHAT MALAYSIA HELATH INSURANCE for the past 5 years through my university,
so my question to you is .....IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET SIHAT MALAYSIA INSURANCE TO COVER FOR MY ETS PROCEDURE?
will be waiting for your reply.i wouild like do this procedure fast because i would be starung my housemanship in local government hospital in 5 months time. so i need to manage this problem before that. please help .thank you.

| hey siva, when u said ur thyroids r clear, meaning it could be of secondary causes? because a few yrs earlier my prolactin n thyroid hormones were elevated, now the levels are not as high but at d upper borderline.. n my HH is pretty bad.. previously d doc suggested a ct scan, now that my levels r within normal range im not sure if its necessary anymore.. Dr Khoo, any opinion on that? |

Hyperthyroidism is one known cause of excessive sweating.
As to the prolactin isssue, i would need to see your medical records to comment. _________________ Dr David Khoo |
