hi, this year I am 22 years old. Here, I want to share my story with you all.
I have sweaty palms, armpits and feet, since my childhood, I don't know why this happened to me and my sister, during that time. Besides that, I also easily nervous, and that cause my HH became more serious. I never knew that got any medicine or surgery that can cure hh until when I reach high education level.
I have many handkerchiefs because I used them to my hands and this had became part of my life.During exam or when doing homework, I will put a paper below the exam papers or use handkerchiefs to clean the sweats that came out from my hands.
HH really influenced me a lot, because of it, I gave up many things that I want to do and learn, such as learning piano, go for a drive licence, and also cause me not dare to take others course that need hands a lot such as pharmacy, medic and many.I have low esteem and sometime I really not confident to face people especially when I need to shake hand with them. When I in church, normally brothers and sisters in Christ will shake hand as for caring each others. I try to avoid from shaking hands with them because they will say: why your hand so many sweat? I don't know how to say and I felt very embarrassed. Some people felt
Sometime, I hate myself for having HH, I don't want be 'alien' in others people's eye. I think if I don't have HH, I will have more choices and I will become more confident.
I cannot wear the t-shirt or clothes in light colours because when my armpits start sweating, I will felt embarrassed. I only wear long jeans in dark colours because that can cover my sweating feet especially when I go to others house. I also swap my wet hands on my jeans.
For my shoes,I only buy the shoes in dark colours and normally with fabric form.Only when I wear that kind of shoes, I won't feel so embarrassed.
I had dreamed that I want do that surgery to cure my hh after I start working in the shortest time, because it cause atlease rm8000.then I heard that HUKM got this surgery with the cost that more cheaper compared to others. So, I discussed with my family and they also support me to do. Now, I had make appointment coming soon. I hope can do that surgery as soon as possible because I dont know what else I can do to cure my hh.
And now I am typing, my hands and feet also start sweating, don't knw when they will stop...=((
p/s: sorry for my broken BI.. |

Hi! Manggo,
I have the same problem and feeling as you.....my sweat will also come out even I'm not nervous or panic ...when i was studying last time I always bring my handkerchief everyday to school..my friends always laugh me..they say i'm like a nyoya...so sad! ...I wish to go for the surgery but i'm afraid the side effect that will caused after the surgery...I think I have to find a dr to consult before I make further decision...
You mentioned that HUKM got do such surgery, is it true? Have you get their consultation? How much is the cost?
Can share with me your information?

hi manggo & penny,
I am vincent, nice to meet u all, & all hh friends here! I have the same experience with both of u. When i am in school, i thought this is not a very big problem to me, but since i am grad & start my working life, i found a lot of difficulties to me. For example, when i shake hand with my supervisor or my colleague, they sure will ask me "why ur hand is so sweaty?" i feel shame sometimes, and some of them will think i am nervous...but actually is not. I scare this will give bad impression to my supervisor or my colleagues, as they may think i am not confident at all! Haiz..
I joint this forum when i am 3rd years in U, but i think i never post anything here, and today i come back here because i think only here...got the peoples who really understand people like us. Very thanks to whose establish this website. Thank you.
Can urs tell me where is HUKM?Is it Hospital UKM? beside this, which hospital provide this kind of surgery treatment? I am working in singapore, so JB have hospital provide this treatment also? And please kindly tell me the cost.
Thanks.
Regards,
Vincent |

Hi Vincent! I understand your feeling and situation very well. I think all of us here having the same situation. You are correct HUKM means Hospital UKM, it is at Cheras area. As mango told me the surgery cost about 2K. The operation were done by our local malay dr. and HUKM is a full goverment hospital so the cost would be much more cheaper. If you asking for a private hospital at KL, Glenegeals Hospital got such surgery but the cost is far more expensive about RM8-9K.
I remember that I saw a private hospital website at singapore which got do such surgery too but I forgot the name already...I pass this information to my singapore friend too but not sure whether she still keep it or not. If you are interest I can try to ask from her...but my friend told me the surgery cost at singapore private hospital is very expensive...if really true it is more worth that you do the surgery at here isn't?
BTW, do you know that this kind of operation will caused some side effects? |

Hi Vincent!
I can't remember all the side effects but part of the side effect I remember are as following : -
1. Eye and face portion may occur sagging situation (the percentage to occur is not high will have the possibility.
2. After operation sweat will appear at the back, tight and obdomen.
I am not sure there any Hospital at JB or Melaka have such operation but you can try to search at the internet, there are a lot information about this. I also get all this information from internet. I will try to check with my friend see whether she still keep the hospital address, once I get her reply will let you know o.k?
BTW, can I know how serious is your sweat situation? |

As I knw,JB gt 1 hospital provide tat surgery with cost is only not more than rm200, If I can,I wish can go there but is too far to me,coz i stay at kl.

im a bit comforted by the fact that im not the only person who has HH im still a student, it sometimes require me to wear latex gloves, i cant seem to put them on for a long time because of my sweaty hands, many a times making me want to cry.
i cant seem to figure out if the HH that im having is primary or secondary. if there is a cause behind HH, i would want to solve the underlying problem. anyone of u know what are the more common causes of HH?
the side effects that i've read about so far have been disappointing. the sweating may be worse than before. n i dont know if i can take it any longer. it's hard enough to sweat from all over my body, hot or cold weather, i wouldnt want to go through it again.
does anyone know who to speak to? any contact number?
thank you |
